Artist Statement (January 2011):

As for the formal, conceptual and technical aspects of my current artistic projects, with regard to motivations

and methodologies, my current drawings show consistency of line and scale as well as content and drawing skill.

Although drawing is a rather traditional medium, I’ve pushed the boundaries with the content and sophisticated

methodology (multimedia involving interviews, photography, collage and drawing) pulling it into contemporary

situations of which the viewer can interject their own environments and understandings into the piece. 

The formal elements of my art that speak specifically on feminism include domestic backdrops and figurative

gender transgressions.  This work is not an annotation of the research I’ve done while at Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA),

but rather a reaction to the readings and thought processing that occurred.  The dialogue between the artwork I’ve done

each semester is one that I hope to continue after the program.
